Here it is:)<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><strong>By Tom Fink, Claremore Daily Progress<\/strong><\/em><br \/>\nWhen it comes to writing, Faith Wylie could hardly be thought of as a beginner.<br \/>\nFor more than 30 years, Wylie was co-publisher of the Oologah Lake Leader \u2014 a position while gave her ample opportunity to hone her skills as a writer.<br \/>\nBut for her latest project, Wylie went outside her comfort zone and penned her first novel, \u201cThe Revelation Key,\u201d something which is a literal and figurative act of Faith.<br \/>\n\u201cWriting this murder mystery has been a long journey for me,\u201d Wylie said. \u201cMy son and I went on a trip to Greece in 2004 \u2014 I was so fascinated by the Classical art there, it just blew me away<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_106\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-106\" style=\"width: 188px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-106\" src=\"https:\/\/wyliecom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Fourth-cover-web-188x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"188\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wyliecom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Fourth-cover-web-188x300.jpg 188w, https:\/\/wyliecom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Fourth-cover-web-640x1024.jpg 640w, https:\/\/wyliecom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/12\/Fourth-cover-web.jpg 720w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 188px) 100vw, 188px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-106\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Final cover design<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cIt interested me so much that I began to study the culture and art of the region, learning that there\u2019s a period where the art history \u2018skips\u2019 and isn\u2019t picked up until the Renaissance, which just fascinated me,\u201d she said. \u201cDiscovering the Byzantine Era in the East set me on a quest to learn more and when I learned about the Macedonian Renaissance, I knew I had to write this novel.\u201d<br \/>\nThe Macedonian Renaissance is described as the period of the Macedonian dynasty of the Byzantine Empire (867\u20131056), especially the 10th century, which some scholars have seen as a time of increased interest in classical scholarship and the assimilation of classical motifs into Christian artwork.<br \/>\nFor Wylie, it was the inspiration for her first book.<br \/>\n\u201cBasically, it\u2019s a book that\u2019s got several influences,\u201d she said. \u201cWhen \u2018The Da Vinci Code\u2019 came out, it was an indicator that people could be drawn into a story about the symbols and imagery in historic art, both faith-inspired and secular, which means more than it appears to on the surface.<br \/>\n\u201cMy heroine, Amber Jackson, is at a crossroads of sorts,\u201d she continued. \u201cShe\u2019s 23-years-old and has just finished college and getting ready to go into grad school, but she also suffers from a condition called synesthesia, which is an actual condition that causes people, when they hear a sound to associate something else with it \u2014 a color, and it\u2019s this condition that allows her to see \u2014 and experience \u2014 things that other characters in the book don\u2019t.\u201d<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-135\" src=\"https:\/\/wyliecom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/fw-headshot-web-223x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"223\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/wyliecom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/fw-headshot-web-223x300.jpg 223w, https:\/\/wyliecom.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/fw-headshot-web.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 223px) 100vw, 223px\" \/>Although Wylie said the book isn\u2019t entirely a Christian book, it\u2019s equally not anti-religious, but through the main character, invites the reader to seek the truth for themselves.<br \/>\n\u201cI love mysteries with a spunky female protagonist, exotic location and a touch of humor,\u201d she said. \u201cIt\u2019s a little quirky, but I hope readers enjoy it, and gain a new appreciation for an era that is not well-known in the West.\u201d<br \/>\nWylie\u2019s novel will be available on Friday, Feb. 23. Readers may pick up their copy on the day of release and meet the author at a book-signing, scheduled for 4-6 p.m. Feb. 23 at Lakeside State Bank in Oologah.<br \/>\nA book-signing at the public library in Enid is set for March 3.<br \/>\nWylie\u2019s book is currently available on Amazon, Kindle and Kindle Unlimited.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>(Tom Fink wrote a great article about my new novel.
